Curriculum, Assessment, & Data

Indulge in a comprehensive, data-driven approach to strengthen curriculum, assessment, and instructional practice across grades 3–8 by tightly aligning curriculum, assessments, programs, and the district calendar to NJSLA expectations. This work is reinforced through targeted assessment, data, and rubric trainings for district leaders, curriculum teams, school administrators, and classrooom teachers - building the capacity to interpret NJSLA data, improve predictive validity, and translate assessment insights into actionable instructional improvements that support continuous improvement systems.

Curriculum Development

We design Curriculum Maps in Mathematics in alignment to the District’s approved programs in Grades 3 – 8 that

  • Align to prior year NJSLA data results

  • Align to the District Calendar

  • Are organized by topic and emphasize content that will be taught before and after State testing

Assessment Development

Phase I:  We support Curriculum Teams in the development of Interim Assessment Blueprints mapped to the NJSLA and the existing Scope & Sequence for Grades 3 – 8

Phase II: We support Curriculum Teams in the develop of the Interim Assessments that will be mapped to the NJSLA and the existing Scope & Sequence for Grades 3 – 8

Phase III: We support Curriculum Teams in providing collaborative inquiry cycles designed to allow educators to collectively analyze Interim data, standard by standard

Data Training

Phase I: We provide training to address alignment of current curriculum and assessment structures to the NJ Student Learning Standards

Phase II: We provide training to address student performance and to improve data-informed instruction

Phase III:We provide Training to School Leaders to take a deeper look into their own NJSLA results such to align systems of continuous improvement.

Phase IV: We provide training support staff in their ability to better score of Open Ended Reasoning and Open Ended Modeling Tasks.
