From Data to the Classroom

We support the idea that there is a straight through line between curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data. Data should be used continuously to enhance teaching practices and to monitor how students are progressing throughout the year. The trainings described below help teachers demystify their data to make it practical within the classroom.

Data Protocol

We work alongside teacher teams using a tried-and-true Data Protocol that allows Grade Level Teacher Teams to analyze Benchmark and Interim Assessment results in ways that are actionable, customized for individual students, and that track growth over time.  Within the protocol, teachers are able to determine:

  • What student CAN DO

  • What students are unable to do at the moment

  • What should be Revisited/Retaught/Retested

Intellectual Planning Protocol

We work alongside grade level teams to explore an “Intellectual Planning Protocol” designed to deeply unpack standards to determine

  • related evidence statements and problem sets

  • deeply connected prerequisite standards

  • the best representations, models, and strategies

  • the rigor on the standard

  • how the content is actually tested

  • very specific implications for teaching

Data Training

We work in consultation with District Leadership and key staff to implement a districtwide professional development strategy that integrates existing structures (schedules, curriculum, instructional models, professional learning designs, etc.) and incorporates reinforced PD models and proven strategies that emphasize:

  • Problem Solving

  • Visual Representations & Conceptual Development

  • Standards-Driven Instruction
